Today I kicked off my operation: get things done. I took huge steps towards the 'To Do List' finish line. I need to work on stomping out procrastination; and getting started on the right foot sooner.
Sometimes it is good to get a kick in the rear, lace up your boots and get to work. Which I did, and I made up a lot of ground today...Ok, that's enough.
I'm off to a running start for the week.

I'm a step ahead of you...

I thought I would change it up for Film Friday; but keep the spirit of analog.
Since we are headed to Dallas for the NBA All-Star game; I thought I would post a few photos from back in December when we caught King James at FedEx Forum in Memphis.
Steph and I watched More Than a Game Wednesday night. The 2009 documentary that follows Lebron and his teammates while they attend St Vincent-St Mary High School and try to win a championship. It is a great film.
Have a great weekend.

These are a few shots from the Fitch Wedding. What a good lookin' couple.
This was a fun wedding; and it meant a lot that they asked me to photograph it because Brandon and I grew up together.
Brandon & Meghan: Thanks for letting me be apart of your special day.

I was inspired by a collection of images I recently found on Victoria's blog called 100 abandoned houses . Although the images are hauntingly beautiful; it is sad to see these houses vacant and abandoned. With Detroit being one of the most effected cities from the recession, it is great to see the artist, Kevin Bauman, giving some of the proceeds from print sales to a non-profit organization, and ultimatley back into the commnunity.
It really got me thinking about how I; you; we, can get involved in our own communities. We all hear people talk about giving money or donations; which is great, but if you want to see changes first hand or if you are a skeptic... the kind of person that says "I don't think my donation makes a difference" then give your time. Whether it is helping an elderly neighbor by mowing their lawn or playing catch with a neighborhood kid, get involved. Take your clothes you don't wear and give them to a local charity. Help at the boys and girls club with youth sports; which is my favorite. Give.
Kevin's collection also inspired me to finish a project I started a few years ago. I have a handful of images from around rural Arkansas of abanoned homes, barns, structures that I thought about calling AR - abandoned & rural.
I also have some photos of homes that I adore; because they have character and show signs of wear, signs of life and maybe even hardship; but most importantly - signs of love.

Steph and I shot these handful of photos today after church. It took "two minutes" because it was so cold. That is all the time She said I could have. Fair enough.
This is going to be a busy and exciting week.

Since Jake is the one that brought up my lack of Film Friday; I couldn't think of a better FF edition than posting the photos I shot with him the last day he was in Arkansas.
These were shot in Eureka Springs with my Yashica Mat 124G. I love this camera!
Jake and I was over in that neck of the woods for Justin's wedding. Good times.

This is from a shoot Steph and I did a few weeks ago. We like to go out and take photos once or twice a month; which is a fun way for me to take a break from other things and be with Steph. This usually means I find a place prior, Steph throws on some cool clothes and I take photos of her beautiful face. But this time was a little different. She was taking the photos and...well, I'm not the greatest model.

Despite my mustache, Steph got some good ones. She is super talented as well; which is another reason why I love her more and more each day. This was shot with a 50mm fixed 1.4 lens my mom got me for Christmas. Thanks mom!
This image was one of my favorites; and Steph did awesome on the timing.

So glad it is Friday. And we get to see Amelia this weekend. Good times.
Oh, and we find out the sex of our baby next Tuesday!

We finally found a credenza! I originally saw this 'fabulous' mid-century piece on craiglist last week but we couldn't check it out because of the snow storm. But luckily Deb, the owner of Fabulous Finds in Fordland, Mo, saved this piece for us; or at least I like to think so. Steph and I drove north a few miles to bring it home. Deb also had a matching hutch we wanted but we'll have to wait another day. Deb waited for us to get there (6 p.m.) and then let us look around her little flea market. We found this chair and an owl salt-n-pepper shaker that we had to have. All for an incredible price.

I also had to get Yankee Hotel Foxtrot on vinyl at a near by record store. Remember Steph, "I'm the man who loves you."

Photos from yesterday. It was a beautiful day. Steph and I got a lot of stuff done around the house. We are turning our upstairs into a spare bedroom on one half of the room and the other half will be Steph's arts & crafts workstation.
Dad helped me fix my car yesterday, and now it's like a "brand new car!"
Basketball game tonight. Engagement photo session this weekend (weather permitting) and NBA All-Star Weekend in Dallas next weekend. Times are good.
